PERMISSION has been granted to erect a marquee at Rainford Golf Course, off the bypass, to be used for functions.

It will be in place for two years and will contain toilet and kitchen facilities.

No live entertainment will be allowed in the marquee and it can operate between 9am and midnight on any specific day.

The plan was passed by the council, which said that it would improve the “economic, social and environmental conditions of the area”.

During the construction, the gap in the central reservation directly opposite the site will be closed, with highway work completed by November 2014.

However, concerns have been raised among neighbours about potential noise levels.Residents have asked for an 11pm cut-off for any event taking place.

i dont get the bit about bringing economic, social and environmental conditions to the area,is this not a private golf course set away from everywhere but next to the busiest rds in the area,so the only one who will benefit are the owners of the course who will get cash from the ones using the tent, how can it be environmentally enhancing the area and who has paid for the work being done to the entrance because this has been going on for months, answers please.
