A MAN will appear at Liverpool Crown Court later this year after pleading not guilty to an alleged New Year’s Eve attack that left a man with serious head injuries.
Michael Cunliffe was injured near the junction of Arrowsmith Road and Church Road, opposite The Jade Garden Chinese takeaway, shortly before midnight on December 31.
Karl Hazelden, 28, from Balharry Avenue, Haydock, was charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm and appeared at St Helens Magistrates' Court, where he pleaded not guilty.
Hazelden was granted conditional bail to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on May 6.
A 17-year-old from Parr was released on police bail.
