NOBODY could be more made up with success than multi-talented Eccleston girl Jen Hunter.

Jen, aged 28, has made it through to the finals of the Make- up Artist Professional of the Year competition at the Professional Beauty magazine awards.

“I couldn’t believe it when I got into the top six,” said a delighted Jen, who works in the PR department at the West Lancashire College at Skelmersdale.

“To be the only one in the north of England to get through to the finals was just amazing.”

Jen won through to the finals of the competition, which will be held in February, after judges were impressed by her skills at the London School of Make-up.

She said: “It was a nerve wracking experience. The other finalists are amazing artists and I’ve really admired their work in the past.

“It shows that all the hard work I’ve put in over the past six years is paying off. I couldn’t be happier.”

Workaholic Jen leads a hectic lifestyle. She does freelance work in the media, fashion and bridal industries, alongside her full-time role at West Lancashire College.

She is also training to teach media make-up and fashion photographic make-up to college students.

After completing a degree in television production at the University of Central Lancashire in 2007, she began studying fashion and photographic make-up in the evenings at St Helens College and also media make-up at West Lancashire College.

Then, in 2008, she began her freelance work as a make-up and special effects artist.

Artistic Jen has attracted bridal clients and done television work, commercials and fashion shows.

She is quietly confident about the future and admitted: “I never thought at this point in my career I would be up for such a prestigious award. I can’t wait.”
