WHEN his barbershop was burgled Eddy Goldsack was fearful for the immediate future of his business after his hairdressing equipment was stolen.

However his customers, family and friends rallied round and he has never been busier.

Eddy was greeted with a scene of devastation when he went to open up his barbers on Park Road in Fingerpost.

He said: “The whole place was ransacked. Even though there are bars on the windows if someone wants to get in they will.”

The 56-year-old owner of Eddy’s also plays in a local band Prophet’s Rose. Some of his musical equipment which was in the shop was also stolen.

He added: “They stole five pairs of clippers and scissors and even a charity box for children with leukaemia, which is low as you can get. Unfortunately there’s not a lot the police can do. They even took my glasses.

“But my customers have stayed with me and since it happened I have never been as busy. I think they heard about it on the grapevine and I’d like to thank them all.

“The hairdressing equipment has been replaced. It cost a lot of money but family and friends have helped.”
