CUSTOMERS can now spend a penny in style at a town centre shopping centre after toilets were completely refurbished for the first time since 1991.
Loos at the town’s St Mary’s Arcade of Church Square Shopping Centre have re-opened after undergoing a £60,000 re-vamp.
The toilets near the centre’s market had been shut for several weeks.
Church Square Shopping Centre manager Steven Brogan said: “Although the St Mary’s Arcade toilet facilities have been decorated every couple of years, the last time they were completely refurbished was in 1991.
“We have spent around £60,000, ripping old the old equipment - including the tiling, lighting and cubicles - and replacing them with up to date facilities, similar to those in the Lagrange Arcade near the management suite.
“There are environmentally friendly hand driers, improved and enhanced lighting, new fixtures and fittings and a complete redecoration throughout.”
