FIREFIGHTERS used cutting gear to free a man from a car after it was found down an embankment in a field.
Crews were called at 6.40am on Sunday, December 22, to Common Road, Newton-le-Willows.
The man, once freed from the car, was carried on a long board by firefighters and paramedics to a waiting ambulance.
Another man was helped from the vehicle by paramedics before firefighters arrived.
Firefighters also used rope access gear and a basket stretcher to lift the second man to the road where an ambulance was waiting.
Firefighters were on the scene for more than two hours.
