A WHISTON man has been charged with murdering 52-year-old Michael Fennah, who died after allegedly being mown down by a car yesterday morning.

Nathan James Kenny, 33, of Braemar Close, Whiston will appear at Liverpool City Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (Thursday, December 19).

Mr Fennah died yesterday morning (Tuesday, 17 December) just yards from his home in Scott Avenue, Whiston.

A post mortem has found he died as a result of head injuries.

Mr Fennah, who was well known in the community, died at the scene after he was struck by a silver Renault Megane.

A neighbour who was first on the scene told the Star how he covered Mr Fennah’s body with a blanket as he lay in the road fighting for his life.

He said: “My mate was walking past, then he started shouting and banging on the front door shouting ‘get out here quick’. I saw a car go past and up the road.

“I ran out and saw his clothes had been torn off so I went back into the house to get a blanket to cover him up.

“It all seemed like ages because there was no one else there but it must have just been seconds.

“At that point he was still alive. I left the blanket over him and waited as I shouted for help.

“I knew it was really bad.”
