THE very best of Northern Soul and Sixties Soul will be in town on Saturday night when nine-piece band The SoulTrain steams into The Citadel.

The East Lancashire-based band captures the feel of the classic era of soul with authentic arrangements featuring the blistering sound of the Union Pacific horns.

Alongside 60s favourites, the band will also perform great Northern Soul anthems from the days of Wigan Casino and The Twisted Wheel. Songs that became big hits for The Four Tops, Dobie Gray, Wilson Pickett, The Showstoppers, Smokey Robinson, Dean Parrish, Jackie Wilson, Frank Wilson, R. Dean Taylor and company will be electrifyingly brought to life.

The band has played at venues such as King George’s Hall, Blackburn, The Grand at Clitheroe and The Waterside as well as annual appearances at Blackpool Tower.

SoulTrain are resident at The Ritz – an iconic Northern Soul dance hall in Brighouse – and are sure to be a big draw at The Citadel in Waterloo Street.

Doors open at 7.30pm. Tickets are £10 and £8 for concessions.

To book call the Citadel Box Office on 01744 735436 or see citadel.org.uk.
