SAINTS have donated a signed ball and several shirts to raise funds to help those affected by the typhoon disaster in the Philippines.
Carmel Parr of The British Red Cross received the kit from the club’s merchandising manager Steve Law.
Steve said: “Following the terrible images we have seen of the devastation from the Philippines, Saints were delighted to be able to help the charity with the initial request for a signed Saints ball. We then offered a significant quantity of the residual shirt stock from last season and The British Red Cross was happy to accept.”
The charity’s senior community fundraiser Alexis Fairclough said: “The British Red Cross would like to thank players, staff and directors of St Helens RFC for the very generous donation for the Typhoon Haiyan Appeal.
“The donated shirts will be sold at British Red Cross shops across the UK and the money raised from the sale of the shirts will go directly to help the people affected by the disaster in the Philippines.
