A towering success for cyclist Pete Mainey
9:30am Friday 25th October 2013 in News
THREE hundred miles after setting out from Crystal Palace in London on his epic bike ride Pete Mainey reached the delights of the French capital Paris.
Thanks to the efforts of the 45-year-old from Eccleston, Willowbrook Hospice is better off to the tune of more than £3,000.
Relatives of Pete’s family have been affected by cancer and the hospice is a cause close to his heart.
He said: “The ride was excellent. I was well prepared but it was tough going in parts.
“I’m pleased to report that we ended up raising £3,100 for Willowbrook. We are still receiving small donations, and the figure will increase by a small amount.”
