George Faulkner's family thank friends for making Rainford 10K a special day
6:30pm Thursday 17th October 2013 in News
THE family of George Faulkner described the Rainford 10k run as “truly uplifting”, with hundreds of people taking part in the inaugural event.
The run was held in memory of the 17-year-old former Rainford High School pupil, who died five years ago on the East Lancs Road after colliding with a car.
His parents Sue and John and brother Bob tackled the course.
Sue said: “It was great to see so many friends of George and ours there to support the cause, especially those who had been bullied into it.”
She paid tribute to the volunteers who marshalled the route and everyone who made the event a success.
She added: “George ordered the sunshine this year and hopefully for next year. But even if not I think the event is destined for success based on the feedback we have already had.”
Donations can still be given at justgiving.com/bojosu4 george.
