8:45am Tuesday 15th October 2013 in News
THE Australia and Fiji squads will both touch down in the UK this morning as the build up to the Rugby League World Cup 2013 gathers pace.
The two sides will face each other at Langtree Park on Saturday, November 2.
The Kangaroos are blessed with some of the greatest players in the game, including mercurial full back Billy Slater, centre Greg Inglis, prop Paul Gallen and hooked Cameron Smith, who is the Green and Golds' captain.
Fiji have some big names of there own, however, with veteran prop Petero Civoniceva set to bring the curtain down on his career by captaining the Bati.
They also include the Newcastle Knights winger Akuila Uate, one of the stars of the NRL competition, in their ranks.
Both parties are due at Manchester Airport this morning.
Before the flight Slater tweeted a picture of himself with Melbourne team-mate Smith. It read: "Off to the UK with the Boys for the #RLWC2013."
The Rugby League World Cup kick offs on Saturday, October 26 at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium when England face Australia and Italy play Wales.
