Burglars escape with £3,000 of fishing tackle
6:03pm Tuesday 1st October 2013 in News
THIEVES got away with around £3,000 of fishing tackle in raid at a property in Grange Park.
Early on Sunday morning the door hinges were removed from the garden shed and equipment including a distinctive green Carp Porter Mark 5 battery powered barrow numbered 12 of only 250 manufactured.
Also taken was a Trakker Armo two man bivvy, a Kevin Nash four leg wideboy bedchair, a Kevin Nash minus 20 sleeping bag, a Carp Porter barrow bag, with tackle and scales, plus jackets and an unhooking knife.
The 48-year-old victim, who was left devastated by the theft but declined to be named, said: “I think it is likely they stole the equipment to sell on. They were selective in what they took and must have some knowledge of the sport.
“I believe it was a planned burglary and they would probably have needed a van to remove so much equipment. If anyone is offered any item or a job lot of fishing tackle, I would really appreciate it if they would tell the police.”
Police are investigating.
