FORMER Saints star Sean Long allegedly grabbed a disabled woman by the neck at a house in Rainford, a court has been told.
Long is appearing at St Helens Magistrates’ Court, where he is standing trial, accused of assaulting 40-year-old Pamela Twist in May 2012.
Long, 36, from Billinge, denies the allegation, claiming not to have been at the property at all.
Miss Twist, who now lives in Widnes, claims that Long and another unnamed man had visited the house looking for her then husband.
In an exchange with Long’s solicitor Sean Joyce, Miss Twist, who suffers from a number of disabilities, denied making up the allegations.
District judge Ian Lomax said that the trial is expected to last until tomorrow (Tuesday, October 1).
