Former cottage hospital could be converted into apartments
11:00am Saturday 28th September 2013 in News
A FORMER cottage hospital dating back to the 1880s will be transformed into 12 flats if planning permission is granted by the council.
An application to convert the building on Clipsley Lane in Haydock has been resubmitted after the original plans were withdrawn earlier this year following advice from the council’s case officer about an additional bat survey.
This has since been completed with the recommendation that contractors do not restrict any entrance and exit point.
The red bricked building has been valued at around £200,000 and has been empty since 2011. It stopped being a hospital in 1978.
