MERSEYSIDE Police have issued a warning amid fears an 18-year-old woman who died yesterday may have taken a green coloured 'Rock Star' Ecstasy tablet.
The teenager, who is from Walton, was taken to the Royal Liverpool University Hospital at 1.40pm on Sunday after becoming unwell.
She died at the hospital a short while later.
The force is now warning people across the region about the potential dangers of the drug.
A police statement read: “A post mortem will be carried out to establish the cause of death.
“In the meantime detectives believe that the deceased may have taken a green coloured 'Rock Star' Ecstasy tablet shortly before she died and as a precautionary measure they are warning people not to take this type of tablet.
“Enquiries are underway to find out where the tablets were bought and officers are appealing to anyone who may have information to contact St Anne Street Police station on 0151 777 6064, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
