AN artistic ten-year-old girl – who sketched a picture congratulating the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on the birth of Prince George – is treasuring a thank-you card she received in return.
When Jessica Marsh heard the news of the royal baby’s arrival her first instinct was to send a goodwill message to the new parents.
So she swiftly put together a drawing of the happy family and posted it to Kensington Palace. Weeks later the youngster could not believe it when a card and a thank-you message arrived to her home address in Haresfinch.
It is believed the cards were sent to all members of the public who included their address along with their message of congratulations.
The card read: “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were most touched that you took the trouble to write as you did on the occasion of the birth of their son Prince George.
“Their Royal Highnesses have been overwhelmed by all the wonderful messages they have received and send you their warmest thanks and best wishes.”
The card features a photograph of Kate and William, with Prince George wrapped in a blanket.
Jessica, a pupil at St Peter and Paul’s Primary school, said: “I cannot wait to get back to school to show everyone.”
