9:18am Wednesday 4th September 2013 in News
A MAN was arrested in front of several eye-witnesses for allegedly carrying class A drugs.
Officers were on patrol on Brookway Lane in Parr on Thursday, August 29, when they noticed a man acting suspiciously.
He was approached and told that they intended to search him.
The man, aged 40, was subsequently arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs.
During the incident a 53-year-old man was also arrested for obstructing and resisting an officer in the execution of their duty.
One witness contacted the Star to question the level of force used by officers, however, police are entitled to use a degree of “reasonable force” in making an arrest.
No official complaint has been made.
Both men have been questioned and bailed pending further enquiries and an investigation into the matter is ongoing.
