THIS supersized snake proved to be huge hit among visitors to a bumper family festival, which celebrated its eighth year.
Thanks to the hard work of Bette Yates MBE and the committee of FINTRA residents association Nanny Goat Park Festival is now an established part of the calendar.
Drawing an estimated crowd of around 500 people, this year’s festival was the biggest yet, with a visit from some exotic animals, a football tournament and even a haunted house.
Bette, 69, who was honoured by the Queen in January for more than three decades working for her local community, said: “The main reason I do it is from babes in arms, to toddlers, teenagers and older generations; the whole community is there.
“We had a wonderful time and the weather held off for us. We even had our photos taken with Ade Gardener, who popped along.
"The animals went down so well that the kids have asked us to get them back for a one off event.
“I always say, I’m not going to do this again, but I do,” she joked. “None of us on the committee are young. But without the Rangers, police and the council, we couldn’t do it.”
