10:00am Friday 23rd August 2013 in News
A NEW samba music workshop is soon to get up and running, just for youngsters.
Music teacher Chris Haynes is the founder member of Baruhlo de Cima (Racket Upstairs), which meets at the Griffin Hotel in Earlestown.
Samba is a dance and musical genre originating in Bahia, Brazil, and with its roots in Rio de Janeiro and Africa via the West African slave trade and African religious traditions.
It is recognised around the world as a symbol of Brazil and the Brazilian Carnival.
Starting on Tuesday, October 15, the children’s classes run for ten sessions and cost £2.50 a lesson.
All instruments will be provided.
Anyone who would like information can contact Chris on 07985 578530.
