PICTURE: Eccleston Mere School's fond farewell to 'angel'
9:00am Monday 19th August 2013 in News
A FRIENDLY group of school children made a special recording for one of their classmates as they said their goodbyes on her final day.
Melissa Adams made a big impression during her time at Eccleston Mere School. The 10-year-old suffers from the extremely rare condition Angelman Syndrome, leaving her with a number of disabilities.
Such has been the care and dedication shown by the school, that a special party was held, before Melissa moves to Lansbury Bridge next term.
Melissa’s mum Kathryn said: “The children organised a collection at school and bought Melissa a bear, which when she presses its tummy says ‘Eccleston Mere’s angel’ in the children’s voices.”
Her big brother Jacob wasn’t about to miss out and was also invited to join in with the celebrations.
