RITA ORA has apologised to fans after she was forced to cancel her Haydock Park Racecourse gig tonight (Friday, August 9) due to “a bad infection in the throat and chest”.
The singer took to Twitter this afternoon to apologise to fans who were due to watch the singer at the Haydock Park Summer Night gig tonight.
She tweeted: “I would never do this unless I physically had to and in this situation I unfortunately do. I am so so sorry for cancelling my shows.
“I’ve never and will never not perform unless I physically can’t put on a good show for you. I have a bad infection in the throat and chest.
“I am so sorry and as soon as I get better I will make it up to you. I promise. I love you. Rita."
Tickets for the evening, which was scheduled to include a full race card and Ora’s performance, were priced at £30 upwards.
Tonight's race meeting will still go ahead as planned.
Some ticket holders, who say they bought tickets solely for the singer's performance, have expressed disappointment that only £12 of the ticket price is being refunded.
The racecourse was expecting 8,000 people through the gates prior to the singer withdrawing from the event.
