THE first residents have been settling in at a £4.5million care home that has created 80 new jobs.

Madison Court in Parr provides residential care for 66 people needing both nursing and dementia support.

It is the result of a £4.5 million joint venture between Merseyside-based Primesite Developments and CareConcepts.

Alongside experienced staff in the manager and nursing positions, the permanent roles include numerous opportunities for trainees and those with no experience of care.

CareConcepts has been working with the St Helens Chamber of Commerce and Re New Parr to target applications from the long term out of work of Parr and St Helens area.

The company describes the response as “overwhelming” and to date 17 people have been appointed through this process.

Martin Clark, managing director of CareConcepts, said: “We have new and potential residents both already living in the local area and returning to the area from other care homes so that they can be closer to their roots.

“Our work with local schools and the chamber of commerce will ensure that the home enhances the community above and beyond the care for older people it provides.”
