Latest from our sports editor Mike Critchley on tonight's Saints fixture... The overnight snow, current near blizzard type conditions and the afternoon forecast has put tonight's game between Saints and Salford at Langtree Park in some doubt. Protective covers were put down on the pitch immediately following captain's run yesterday and at present it is still 'game on'. Updates will be posted when available.
THE heavy snow is causing traffic chaos at Rainhill Stoops after two cars overshot the roundabout and ended up in bushes. Police were called at around 7.45am when a female driver in a silver BMW sports car came off the road, travelling from Widnes towards St Helens. The woman was not injured and called vehicle recovery. Police have closed one lane on the roundabout after another vehicle left the road at around 8.30am and again ended up in the bushes. At the moment, that vehicle is still in place and motorists are being warned of disruption.
