YOUNGSTERS at a primary school have been able to go globetrotting... without any need for a passport.

The pupils at Wargrave Primary School pupils have been studying different countries for geography.

As well as dressing up in national costumes, the youngsters from the Newton-le-Willows school sampled food from the countries they studied – and brought it all together with a ‘world market’ in the assembly hall.

Teacher Andrea Mason said: “Thanks to the hard work of pupils we were able to stage an event that broadened everyone’s horizons.”

The global theme continued at the school with an event to celebrate World Book Day. “Pupils dressed as book characters shared a story time and wrote reviews.”
