Re-surfacing work to cause weekend delays at Rainhill Stoops roundabout

MOTORISTS are being warned about possible overnight delays at the Rainhill Stoops roundabout (M62 junction 7) this weekend.

St Helens Council teams will be re-surfacing the roundabout and its approach roads – including parts of the slip roads – between 7pm and 5am on Friday 15, Saturday 16 and Sunday, March 17.

New road markings will also be applied as part of the scheme, which will see traffic restricted to one lane in some places.

In a statement St Helens Council said "it apologises for any inconvenience caused as a result of the work".

This should be good. How can you botch up some thing as simple as a roundabout ? First it was the peak hour traffic lights that quickly became full time traffic signals, now they intend to start messing about with the lanes on and around the thing.

There's a match on at Langtree Park and they decide to do work just before it begins. How ridiculously stupid.

What a ridiculous lot we have you can't drive any where proper because of the pot holes and when they fill them in with whatever, your still in a traffic mess. How on earth this country functions is a bloody miracle
