Teenage louts kicked wing mirrors off cars

POLICE are scouring social network sites, including Facebook, to track down the yobs responsible for a night time rampage, which caused hundreds of pounds worth of damage.

Neighbours looked through their windows to see up to 40 teenage louts kicking off car wing mirrors on Link Avenue in Blackbrook.

They struck just after 10.20am, damaging six cars, according to police. One resident called officers who stopped a group of teenagers close to the scene.

A 14-year-old was detained and taken home by police.

Further enquiries are ongoing as to the full extent of the damage caused. Another two boys will also be questioned in connection with the incident.

Neighbourhood Inspector Steve Lowe said: “These acts of senseless damage will not be tolerated. The police, youth services, fire service and the local authority are working together to put a stop to this type of behaviour.

“Schools officers are gathering information and scan social networks such as Facebook to identify those involved.

“We are working with the Council Safer Communities and Children’s Services and have launched an operation to combat young people who gather in the streets to drink alcohol.

"I would also ask parents to be vigilant and most importantly know where your children are and what they are doing.”

Anyone with information about the incident can contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Time to stop pussyfooting around with these scum. Give them 6 months detention, no parole, no privileges, hard time, no television,no game consoles, shovelling compost from one spot to another then back again, etc. At the same time time, heavily fine their parents for not doing their job, which is parenting. See how they get on with that. When they get out, make them go, with their parents to apologise to their victims. Any more offending, throw the key away.

If one is being questioned good chance might know some of the others and so on,and the new laws make them all culpable

The policing or lack of, And then completely inadequate sentencing, must
be a major factor.Mindless vandalism
like this only happens in the UK. Bad
parenting & the inbred culture is the
cause, Last week i read a wonderful
story , about the Vunipola family, whose
two sons have just been chosen to play
rugby union for England, They were
originally from Fiji. The mother was an
incredible lady, & the father said he
used his belt on the two boys when
needed . If only the same culture
existed in England......

there is a current law in this country for the very scenario we are talking about,it doesn't matter who did the damage to the cars ANY of the group can be held responsible for the actions of the whole,so the 14 year old held and taken home could be charged with the damage irrespective of if he did it or not,so charge him and see how long it is before he starts naming names and the culprits brought to book,as for the parents there are also laws to punish them as well, when do we ever see these laws acted upon.

Showed a Thai friend of mine this
report , he could not believe something
like that could happen in England .The
thais have an oldfashioned ideathat allis
wonderful in UK. But he came with a
great idea, anchor an old supertanker
full of jail cells, far up in the North Sea.
Send these scum up there & only give
them their basic needs. Found it hard
to tell him European court of human
rights would not allow.

Just check your spelling and grammar before you post.Simple. Don't expect others to do it for you. Did you have an edit thingy at school? Or did you get a **** good thrashing for sloppy ,lazy, work?

They've edited out a word beginning with "d" and ending with "n". Didn't realise that was a swear word. 10 minutes in the town centre on any given day, and their edit button would catch fire.

Frankley don't worry, we all do "typos" mine is usually due to my wife's crumbs in the keyboard. Also I will not criticise spellings or grammar for it is a person's view we want not a literary masterpiece.

Fair comment Bill. That last post of mine was firmly tongue-in-cheek. I didn't criticise, just responded to his own self criticism.

Meanwhile back on track, I found this piece of legislation.

What actually occurred was a RIOT!

"The offence is defined by section 1 of the Public Order Act 1986 as being where 12 or more persons who are present together use or threaten unlawful violence for a common purpose and the conduct of them (taken together) is such as would cause a person of reasonable firmness present at the scene to fear for his personal safety. Each of the persons using unlawful violence for a common purpose is guilty of riot."

It carries a very heavy sentence!!
