1:52pm Friday 8th March 2013 in News
A WOMAN was the victim of a terrifying carjacking by two thugs.
She had parked her blue Mazda and was walking away from the vehicle when two men approached her from behind.
One grabbed her and she was pulled backwards whilst the other snatched the car keys from her hands.
The robbery happened on Walmsley Street, Newton-le-Willows. The crooks drove away onto Mercer Street before turning left heading towards Park Road North.
Now police, who say the victim was badly shaken by the ordeal, are appealing to anyone who may have seen a two men acting suspiciously around the time of the robbery.
Detective Constable Andy Passey, said: "It is a busy stretch of road so it is possible that members of the public may have witnessed the incident or seen this vehicle, registration HG58 VWN, being driven in the area.”
The crime happened at about 6.45pm on Thursday, February 28.
Both offenders – who had their faces covered - are described as being white, about 5ft 9ins tall of slim build. They were both wearing dark coloured clothing and gloves.
