Nuisance neighbour taken to court
8:00am Friday 8th March 2013 in News
A NUISANCE neighbour has terminated his tenancy with immediate effect after being taken to court by his landlord.
Paul Cliffe, 28, was remanded in custody following his arrest for the breach of an anti-social behaviour injunction.
The injunction related to harassment and threatening behaviour near his home on Catherine Way in Newton-le-Willows.
Possession proceedings by Helena Partnerships were also under way against him.
At Chester County Court, Cliffe’s ASBI was extended to exclude him completely from Catherine Way until August 2014.
Joy Wilson, anti-nuisance Manager at Helena, said: “This is a positive outcome for the former neighbours of this person who had suffered at the hands of his disruptive behaviour for some time.
“The new terms of the ASBI also forbid him from attempting to communicate with anyone who was a witness in this case or from threatening or causing annoyance to any resident of Catherine Way or employee of Helena Partnerships.”
Helena tenants and their neighbours can report anti-social behaviour 24 hours a day by texting 07860 022826.
