Louts torch rubbish at garage

FIREFIGHTERS are warning people to secure their property after louts set fire to a pile of rubbish in a garage.

They were called to an address on Duke Street, St Helens at around 7.28pm on Thursday, February 28 and used a hose jet to put out the fire.

Watch manager Alan Moore, from Eccleston Community Fire Station said: “Advice was given to the owner of the garage to make sure it is secured to prevent further fires being started.

“Although there was no structural damage in this case to the garage, it is important that people with outbuildings that back onto alleyways keep them secure.”
