OLYMPIC gold medallist Ed Clancy picked up a silver medal tonight at cycling's  World Championships being held in Minsk in Belarus.

Clancy who lives in Newton-le-Willows was part of the four-man squad which followed the Australian team home in the finals of the 4,000 metre pursuit.
