TRIBUTES are being paid to a highly respected secondary school headteacher who died at the weekend.

Monica Gallimore, 64, principal at St Cuthberts Secondary School in Parr, passed away on Saturday following a battle with illness.

A statement on the school’s website read: “We are sorry to inform you that Mrs Gallimore, our much-loved principal, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 16.”
