What’s St Helens rugby league skipper got to be so nosey about?

AS Saints’ skipper, he’s a shining example of professionalism on the pitch.

But off the field – and in the name of charity – Paul Wellens is happy to show his sillier side.

So Langtree Park’s leader is supporting Red Nose Day 2013 by sporting his ‘Dinosesaur’ Red Nose for Comic Relief - and is urging the people of St Helens to follow his example.

Although he is happy to look a tad daft, sporting a nose that for the first time has toes, Wello is keen to stress Comic Relief is tackling serious issues throughout the UK and Africa.

He said: “I’m showing off my sillier side all in aid of Red Nose Day and I want the people of St Helens to do the same. Some of the money you raise this year could be spent on projects right here in St Helens.”

Since last Red Nose Day more than £3.5 million has been spent on 232 projects across the North West.

Red Nose Day is on Friday, March 15. There are three red noses to choose from. They are available at Sainsbury’s, Oxfam and online at rednoseday.com.
