9:28am Monday 11th February 2013 in News
DETECTIVES want to speak to this man in connection with a number of petrol thefts from forecourts across the town.
Three incidents have been reported within the space of just two weeks from filling stations in West Park, Rainhill Stoops and Sutton.
The first, captured on these CCTV images, when a light blue Ford Focus pulled into Morrisons filling station on Boundary Road and the driver filled up with £65 worth of fuel before leaving without paying.
Less than a week later a blue Focus was filled with £60 of petrol at the Texaco garage on Warrington Road, Rainhill. The driver left without paying.
Days later the same vehicle was spotted at on Elton Head Road, where the driver put in £43 worth of fuel. Again the driver left without paying.
All three thefts were reported to the police and following enquiries officers believe that a similar car, bearing the registration plate DK04 YKP had been involved each time.
Detectives believe that the plate was stolen from a black Ford Fiesta earlier on December 29 last year near the Raven Lodge, Church Street, St Helens.
They would like to speak to this man about the offences, which have been committed while a woman and child were also in the car.
Anyone who recognises him or the car is asked to call Detective Constable John Black at St Helens CID on 0151 777 6843 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
