Arrest over schoolgirl sex assault Arrest over schoolgirl sex assault

A 46-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested in connection with an indecent assault against a schoolgirl following an e-fit appeal by the St Helens Star.

The 14-year-old victim had been walking along Harrison Way in Newton-le-Willows when she was approached by a man asking for directions to Earlestown railway station.

As the girl approached an alley she was assaulted by a man who put his hand up her skirt and made inappropriate comments.

She was left very shaken and upset by the ordeal.

The 46-year-old was arrested earlier today (Wednesday, February 6) on suspicion of sexual touching.

He has been questioned by detectives and released on bail pending further enquiries.

The e-fit was published in last week's Star, online and widely circulated on our social media platforms.

He better pray he's not found guilty - a supervision order might come his way. If they are really vicious he might have to sign the sex offenders register. Draconian or what!
