Plans to turn former Haydock Cottage Hospital into flats

A FORMER cottage hospital could be converted to flats if plans get the green light.
A developer has submitted planning proposals to transform the former Haydock Cottage Hospital to 12 apartments.
The prominent red-brick building stands at the corner of Clipsley Lane and Poplar Road, Haydock.
Supporting documents stated that it was constructed in 1886 and was used as a hospital for 92 years.
It has had various guises since then but it now stands vacant.
The plans state that English heritage concluded last year that building does not require listed status.
