Light snow and gales forecast overnight for St Helens

ST HELENS could get a dusting of snow overnight according to weather reports.

Strong winds will also continue to blow in blustery showers.

The Met Office is predicting that squally showers will spread to the western half of Northern England during Monday, turning wintry on higher ground through the middle of the day and then to some lower levels during the evening.

Showers will probably fall as sleet and hail but some could turn to snow.

Winds are expected to reach 50mph later tonight (Monday).
