Burglar Philip Kent caught after leaving blood on window
7:00am Friday 1st February 2013 in News
A BURGLAR was caught after his DNA was traced from blood on a smashed window.
Philip Kent, who was jailed earlier this month for an offence carried out in Preston, appeared via video link in a hearing at St Helens Magistrates’ Court.
The 38-year-old from Moore Avenue in Parr was charged with stealing £350 worth of copper piping from a house on Mount Pleasant Avenue last October.
The owner returned to the property to find that the rear ground floor window had been smashed.
Blood was recovered from the window and following forensic examination was found to contain Kent’s DNA.
Kent, who has 34 convictions for nearly 100 offences, was given a four month jail term.
