BOXER Martin Murray will be signing up runners for the GPW Recruitment St Helens 10K this Saturday (February 2).

He will be at Church Square Shopping Centre from 11am to 2pm to assist organisers collecting offline registrations for the Sunday, March 10 run.

Unlike last year, Murray will not be joining runners on the challenge up North Road - but that is because he has a world title shot around the corner.

The unbeaten fighter from Fingerpost will face Sergio Martinez, the planet’s best middleweight, in front of almost 50,000 fans at the Estadio José Amalfitani in Buenos Aires, Argentina on April 2 Martin said: "Unfortunately with the fight looming I cannot take part.

“Last year the atmosphere around the course was fantastic and running into Langtree Park with the North Stand full, was a memory I will never forget.

“Please come down on Saturday and sign up.”

The fighter will be joined on Saturday by former X Factor contestant Bradley Johnson, from Rainford.

Bradley, who has entered the run, said: "Full credit to Steve Prescott and his foundation for setting up the 10K. I look forward to chatting to everyone on Saturday."

Meanwhile, cafe bocboc in Eccleston has entry forms and anyone who signs up there will receive a free coffee.
