POLICE are investigating after shots were fired at a house last night.

It happened on Derbyshire Hill Road, in Parr at about 8.30pm on Wednesday.

A house was damaged but there were no injuries.

Neighbours say part of the road was sealed off last night and this morning as investigations took place.

Officers from the anti-gun Matrix team have been patrolling the area.

The area has been troubled in the past with feuds between rival traveller gangs.

A Merseyside Police statement read: "Officers were called to the scene on Derbyshire Hill Road, Parr just before 8.30pm following reports that shots had been fired.

"Nobody was injured, but there has been some damage a house.

"The scene has been sealed for forensic examination, house-to-house enquiries are underway and patrols have been stepped up in the area."

Anyone with information is asked to contact officers in the Matrix team on 0151 777 5699 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
