POLICE are investigating after shots were fired at a house last night.

It happened on Derbyshire Hill Road, in Parr at about 8.30pm on Wednesday.

A house was damaged but there were no injuries.

Neighbours say part of the road was sealed off last night and this morning as investigations took place.

Officers from the anti-gun Matrix team have been patrolling the area.

The area has been troubled in the past with feuds between rival traveller gangs.

A Merseyside Police statement read: "Officers were called to the scene on Derbyshire Hill Road, Parr just before 8.30pm following reports that shots had been fired.

"Nobody was injured, but there has been some damage a house.

"The scene has been sealed for forensic examination, house-to-house enquiries are underway and patrols have been stepped up in the area."

Anyone with information is asked to contact officers in the Matrix team on 0151 777 5699 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Considering they claim to be travellers... They don't do much travelling! So much trouble caused by these feuds... The other story on here relating to the fight in the bowling green pub was because travellers beat up a regular

Another story about those who pay nothing into society are having those paid for by the general public looking after them (The Police). It's about time the so called "Travellers" are booted out of the area and given to another council to worry about. Sadly for residents in the area this behaviour has caused their insurances to triple because of these inbred immoral and feckless scum.

Are the council really telling us that they can't get asbo's on these people to start with and then get all the other agencies ( ie benefit fraud investigators, tax inspectors, social services ) to start looking in to every aspect of their daily lives with a view to making them want to upsticks and move away. retro has hit the nail right on the head. There's a letter in the Star this week bemoaning parking restrictions not being enforced. I'll tell you this, parking restrictions are being more readily enforced than any laws relating to the criminal activities of these so called travellers , a name being hidden behind by non other than hardened criminals.

Absolutely true.
These so called 'travellers' are above the law.
They are scum and they are the same scum that sexually abuse kids, fondle women and the police let them get away with it because they are scared.
If any of the '****' bastards want to post on here and get 'brave' then by all means do it.
I won't hide behind a pseudonym if you want to meet me somewhere.

Considering the amount of these inbred crooks there are in St Helens, I'm amazed by the lack of fresh tarmac and lucky heather there is. Although, the amount of pegs is outstading.

They have been several arrests over the last 2 years but I've yet to see those involved reaching the courts and a trial taking place. Why is this ?
