BLIZZARDS that left up to a foot of snow on the ground on Saturday inspired some wonderfully imaginative snowmen - as you showed us on Twitter. 

The Star's followers on the social media site sent a mountain of images through to this newspaper's account over the weekend by using the hashtag #sthelenssnow.

And as you demonstrated, it was not just the standard snowman - you sculpted Doctor Who Daleks, bunny rabbits, rugby players, and even a Star Wars style R2-D2 robot.

The rapid thaw through Saturday night meant many were swiftly turned into slush - but these pictures serve as a reminder of your creative talent.
