The rapid thaw of Friday night's snowstorm led to flooding in parts of St Helens over the weekend.
Now a new threat is being posed by heavy rainfall which weather pundits predict will spread across the North West this afternoon. Further heavy rain is also expected later in the week, accompanied by very strong winds.
Star readers have been sending in pictures of the weekend's flooding like this one taken by Marcus Arnold showing the conditions in Sankey Valley.
Villagers in Rainford reported that the brook there was almost bursting its banks after the melting snow added to its already high level.
MOST hilarious weather moment of the weekend came when a BBC regional forecaster said on the late Friday bulletin, when St Helens was already under a foot of snow, that we would be waking up to frosty conditions on Saturday morning!
