A 46-YEAR-OLD woman was rescued from a house blaze by firefighters last night (Friday).
Amid snow storms, crews were called out to the house on Queens Drive just after 9.30pm.
A fire had broken out in the lounge and a neighbour alerted the emergency services.
Fire crews rescued the woman from the property and gave her oxygen.
She is believed to have suffered smoke inhalation and suspected burns. The woman was taken to Whiston Hospital by ambulance.
Firefighters from Newton-le-Willows and St Helens were at the scene for more than two hours.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
