Cold snap means St Helens Council sports pitches are closed again

Town Hall officers have decided to close sports fields this weekend.
FREEZING weather has led to council sports pitches being closed for a second week on the run.
It means the majority of fixtures scheduled to take place in the town this weekend have been wiped out.
A St Helens Council statement read: “Due to the severe weather conditions, St Helens Council will be closing its pitches this weekend (26 & 27 January 2013).
“The council apologises for any inconvenience.”
