Hoodies pelt cars with snowballs

MOTORISTS have complained to police after yobs hurled snowballs and chunks of ice at passing cars, hitting one driver in the face.

A 30-year-old woman said at least 30 youths, many wearing hoodies, terrorised traffic on Clipsley Lane, in Haydock.

Police were called at around 6.30pm on Monday (January 21), after the woman’s car was pelted.

Stopping at the scene, she was confronted by the gang, who threatened her with lumps of ice and snow.

Another driver who stopped was hit full in the face by a chunk of snow hurled through his open window.

No doubt the police wanted to make sure non of the hoodies where threatened in any way by the drivers affected, hence their prompt attendance if the recent incident re the youths throwing a biscuit at a vehicle is any thing to go by.

My car was hit twice near the Tesco in Haydock. There must have been about 15 lads on the park just throwing snowballs. Just idiots who do not have a clue that what they are doing is dangerous and stupid!

Reflects the recklessness of a proportion of today's youth. I had an egg just miss me while waiting for a bus in Newton about 8 years ago. Two years later, an egg that had seemingly been kept in a freezer struck me in Dentons green, again launched from a passing car. It was Christmas Day. Felt like a brick. Scum like that deserve nothing short of a good hiding. The incident involving the 13 year old with a biscuit who was beaten cannot be compared with youths targeting drivers with blocks of ice....

I think it can because 1. As a driver in a vehicle, you are unable to accurately establish what is being launched at your vehicle by these brain dead scum and 2. we need to end this culture of throwing things at cars or dropping stuff off road bridges by what ever means possible.

Somebody got stabbed for throwing a snowball at him last winter in London I believe, this is the risk they take they could throw a snowball at the wrong car. the driver may well be a violent criminal or someone who would take no nonsense from anyone, they would end up worse off, a car versus a human body is no contest, the human body is still squishy and stab able.
