PICTURES: Billy Whizz and Co enjoy the snow
10:50am Thursday 24th January 2013 in News
AFTER enduring a truly miserable couple of years undergoing intensive chemotherapy to overcome leukaemia, it was time for Billy Jarvis to enjoy some fun when the snow arrived.
That is exactly what the six-year-old did on Friday afternoon as he joined little sister Emily and mum Claire for a spot of sledging on the Sherdley Park slopes.
And Billy was not the only one having a good time in the snow, as pictures by our photographer Dave Gillespie and hundreds of snow snaps submitted by readers show.
Elsewhere, thousands of you followed a live snow blog, which featured the latest news of disruption across town.
Plenty of readers saw the funny side of the snow, with one picture featuring Rachel Dearden ‘snowbathing’ in her back yard.
There was also some spectacular snowmen. Dave Ellis’ snow sculpture of a man leaning back on a bench with a can of Guinness covering his modesty – was among our favourites.
Heaps of your snow pictures also piled in to our newsroom via our website sthelensstar.co.uk and Twitter and Facebook.
