UPDATE: More heavy snow predicted to hit St Helens on Friday UPDATE: More heavy snow predicted to hit St Helens on Friday

FORECASTERS are predicting that more heavy snow is heading for St Helens tomorrow afternoon (Friday, Jan 25).

A yellow alert has been issued by the Met Office with further snowfall likely as a weather front moves across the UK from the Atlantic bumping into cold conditions.

Around  5 to 10 cms are likely to fall in some  parts of the North West. Strong winds could also lead to drifting.

The snow is expected to turn to sleet and later rain overnight on Friday as milder conditions reach us over the weekend.

Heavy rainfall is then on the cards for Saturday night.
