Motorcyclist and pedestrian in road collision

A MORTORCYCLIST and female pedestrian were in collision on one of the town’s busiest roads.

The incident happened on Blackbrook Road, near St Augustine’s School at around 5.08pm on Tuesday (January 16).

The 46-year-old woman suffered a cut to her head and was described as “walking wounded” by emergency services.

 The 54-year-old motorcyclist from Haydock was left with injuries to his knees.

The road was closed between its junction with Ashurst Drive, Blackbrook for more than an hour, while a spillage of petrol was cleared.
