WINTER survival packs are being handed out to people across St Helens who will be struggling to keep warm during the cold months.

As part of St Helens Council and Age UK’s Winter Warm campaign, more than five thousand packs are being distributed to those in need across the borough.

Funding for the packs, which include gloves, socks and thermometers, was provided by Department of Health’s Warm Homes Healthy People scheme.

The survival packs will be handed out at council libraries across St Helens this month.

To order a pack and find out your nearest library distribution date call the St Helens Cold Weather Emergency Helpline on 08000 355 878.

What an absolute disgrace that it has come to this because of greedy gas and electricity providers!
